[OTA] live like flowers!

hey gals, i’d read all of your heartfelt replies to my BLOGGER post. will be lying if i say i weren’t touched and flattered.

and, particularly, am struck by how well you gals write! i really like CUITHIL‘s precise choice of words to deliver her message effectively; she’s usually grammatically flawless too! unlike me, i usually have tons of typo and other careless mistakes coz i don’t do drafts, and i don’t vet my own writing before i hit PUBLISH. yea, i just blog rightaway and then hit PUBLISH when i finish. terribly bad habit acquired looooooong time ago. anyway, just wanna say i’ve read everything, but hey gals, don’t be unduly alarmed, i was just thinking out loud. will give a ‘proper’ reply-post to that one, ya?


now moving on to flowers… i’d meant to blog a serious one about this… but even before i could get around to that, something more light-hearted surfaced. and i just gotta share with you.

yea, it’s about living like flowers.

STARLINGs who follow our forum should have read about how wuri hyun joong wanted us, his fans, to live like flowers.

that’s not the first time he’s said that. i also remember when one of his fanclubs in korean (miclub, i believe) created that scholarship for the underprivileged children in his name, they’d also spoken about how they’re trying to heed his advice and live like flowers.

i’d pondered about what exactly he had meant by that, and i’d asked that question HERE. thereafter, STARLINGs like christine and nanet gave me some interesting and stimulating replies HERE.


in particular, CHRISTINE had posted,

so christine’s take was, “He may want his fans to blossom beautifully into a useful person, be happy swaying in the wind, able to withstand trails and tribulations. In our journey through life, do no evil and whatever occassions we graced, may we give a lasting beautiful image.”


and NANET‘s reply to this, “If I venture a guess, I think he means, live a beautiful and meaningful life.

For me it means…to live each day as if it were your last. Flowers are the same. Like you said, pink princess, sometimes flowers last a season or even beyond; sometimes they don’t.”


then a few days passed, and an email arrived in my inbox. it was from a japanese BYJ fan. she had the english translation of a post on a charity deed that some of the japanese fans had carried out, and she was asking if i would post it on LOVEBAEYONGJOON.com.

basically, what happened was that a certain japanese fan-group, PESASA had been doing this charity event for seven years running, and they do it twice every year, once during valentine’s day in february, and another time in august for my YJ’s birthday. this time would be the 13th time they’re doing so. talk about peseverance!

in the letter addressed to my YJ to tell him about this charity event, the ending part was actually this,

We look forward to the “Message! To Asia” event at Tokyo Dome on December 14 this year as well as the drama “Dream High” scheduled to start on January 3, 2011.

did i read right? or maybe it’s a common-enough saying amongst the korean and japanese? so perhaps if i were to ask the japanese BY-fans, they might be able to shed some light on the exact and definitive meaning of live like a flower or living like flowers…???


here’s an extract of my email exchange with the japanese fan.

bb: hey, tell me, what does MARInet mean when she says, ‘live like a flower’? is it a common saying in japanese? or in korean, perhaps?

BYJ fan: Frankly, I’m not quite sure what she meant, but she was happy with my (english) translation. Hopefully, YJ would interpret it in a way that would make him happy^^

bb: hee, i’d asked because kim hyun joong always tells his fans to live like flowers! and he recently just said it again ^^
so i’m wondering is someone amongst the PESASA fans is a leader fan too…

BYJ fan: HAHA! So that’s it! You leader fans^^

rambling thots…

have you watched maknae’s interview clip that LIEZLE had posted?

yea, it’s shot in singapore. should be today, maknae would presumably be too busy to do this yesterday. he had to rehearse before the showcase in the afternoon, and then there was the IMM event in the evening. so this XIN interview should have been done today.

oh, just in case you’re curious, he’s leaving singapore tonight. the 22:50pm flight, i was told.

one more thing, understand that his english ain’t half bad. i sure hope so, he’d after all spent some time (a year?) studying in australia in the past. he’d give short answers in english during the showcase. quite many times, he’s able to understand what he was being asked and kept (rushing to) answer before the interpreter does her job of explaining the questions to him^^

but quite certain he’s able to understand most part of what’s going on, which is fab! never thought it’s a good idea for a star to go international without at least some english basics. and believe, you, me, it’s never too late to pick it up. just look at how some china and hong kong stars have done it!

anyway, what triggered this rambling post was from what maknae had said about how the boys were still close and how they still wanted to hold concerts and release albums together. yes, they’re all pursuing solo career and all that, but they’re still together.

(hee, maknae also chided his leader for being a ‘bad boy’ coz he didn’t buy a birthday pressie! it ain’t the first time too, keke!)

i’ve no doubt each and every boy means it when they tell us so. i believe they sincerely, genuinely, completely believe their own words and promises to us.

but life’s a tricky thing. even if we’re willing, sometimes circumstances change and (other) people change. and whether we wish it or not, sometimes the best of intentions and plans may not materialize.

so my take is this… if the boys really want to do it, they should do it quickly.

serious, as quickly as possible, while the desire’s still very strong, and while everyone around them is still relatively supportive and accommodating. the longer they wait to do something together, the more risks and uncertainty they’re being exposed to. the longer the time exposure, the more and bigger the uncertainty.

if they wait till (much, much) later, many things might be very different in many ways. for instance, there could be HUGE (really really HUGE!) gaps in terms of popularity, appearance fees, how busy their schedules are, etc etc etc. and there’re FIVE of them, not just two or three (which can be difficult enough sometimes). so the earlier they pull off one event or activity together, the better. it can be something not so big-scale, but at least do something.

it will pave the way for future events, and it will make things easier in future.

besides, feelings can change over time too.

i really hope there’s someone close to them who’s mature and clear-headed enough to see all these and help push for an event for the boys to work on together. at least if they work on something now (before things get way different amongst them and before ‘weird’ feelings start to emerge amongst them), then they would still have some basics and precedents to fall back upon when they do collective activities in future.) any thoughts, anyone?

honestly, my fear is this.

even next year might be too late.

maybe i’m just a blogger…

did you know EMZ was doing LIVE UPDATES for maknae’s showcase and all that today?

i wasn’t there at all, but heard that the TS had fun and there were also ‘teary’ moments.

especially when they were watching this special clip prepared by SGTRIPLES. it’s a song written by TS, sung by TS. gotta say i quite like some of the lines in this song, and they’re very apt in relating to how maknae’s a DJ and all that.

but hor, haiyo, what’s with young kids these days…? diction and pronounciation are so unclear…?




the whole of today, i was DOING SOMETHING REALLY CRAZY and it’s sorta for MY YJ’s BIRTHDAY.

as i was frantically building up the contents on over THERE, something came to mind. i really am more of a blog person than a forum person. coz of the way i am, the way i think and function, and the way i write, my personal style is best applied on a blog platform, instead of a forum.

in my mind, a forum is more about community and about sharing and contribution, whilst a blog can take on the (personal) personality of the blogger, although it can be corporate or team-based as well. but it’s kindda like a case of i suit the blog platform more and it frees me to write and share more. it’s less restrictive and i feel like i can blog my heart out.

blogging is very much more of a personal thingy, as i need not be confined to any topic, and i can just shape my own writing. that’s the kind of writing i love.

sadly, the same cannot be said of fora.

as i manage the forum more and more, longer and longer, i keep having the feeling that i’m spending less and less time blogging, which is something that i really enjoy. lord knows how many times i’d actually screamed out loud on twitter that I MISS BLOGGING.

the whole of today, as i was working on my YJ’s pressie, as tiring as it was to sit at the computer all day and type non-stop, i was enjoying it tremendously. my thoughts were allowed to just fly and my fingers were just gliding across the keyboard of my notebook.

ahhh…. utter satisfaction.


and know what? it also struck me that i ain’t the fanclub type of girl either. or maybe it’s more of a case of i aint’ the fangirly type of girl. there’re so many things i wouldn’t think to do for my idol, and i also think my approach to things and life in general is usually not quite the same as the usual administrators of fanclubs.

and coz of how un-fangirly i am, i tend not to do stuff that are expected of fanclubs usually. gotta be honest with you, there are times when i feel utterly sorry for you gals. coz of the way i am, the ways for you to show more ardent and ‘louder’ support are deprived, taken away from you.


perhaps i really am more suitable to run independent blogs instead of trying to run a fanclub. tell me, STARLINGs… tell me, really, i really am not suitable, am i? maybe it’s really about the age…? but i believe it’s really more of the personality, coz i think even if i were to be running this 10 or even 20 years ago, i would probably still be this weird oddball, keke! and incredibly opinionated, too!

don’t worry about me, i ain’t feeling down or even anything close to it. i’m just wondering out loud if this kim hyun joong fanclub thing is better managed by someone else. really, i ain’t feeling down. am asking this question purely from a discussion angle, and i genuinely want to hear what everyone thinks. (yea, i’m kindda ‘academic’ like that, hee….)

i was just so happy writing whatever, and i was just so happy blogging!

meanwhile, a new week has dawned upon us again, have a fantabulous week ahead!

new header is up! if you are a starling visiting the forum frequently, this would not be new. :) its 3 days away from the debut of Playful Kiss!

many of you would have seen the many pics and vidz on the presscon on 26th held at Seoul, Kangnam-gu’s Nonhyun-dong – Imperial Palace Hotel. see HERE for the updates in the forum.

just wanna post a few of the nicer ones here. not that the others were not good, its too many to post! hehe! credit as tagged.

yeah, so what has lovekimhyunjoong.com done to support wuri Hyun Joong and his drama?

lovekimhyunjoong.com sent in a total of 12 rice flowers stands out of the 30 over. each one represented a country. what is rice flower you may ask? i, too, asked the same question when this was mooted by bb. she has explaned Our Project RF HERE in her looonngg post! keke!

from my little understanding, instead of sending flowers only, packets (in multiple of 10kg) of rice are bought and sent over.  hence its called rice flower. after the event, the packets of rice would then be donated in Hyun Joong’s name. which i felt its meaningful. the purpose of doing this is also to let him know the support from overseas fans. we had all the support from the starlings to be able to do this.

it’s inching nearer and nearer now, and as i watched the pics, the clips and all, am actually building up quite abit of excitement for the drama.  haiyo, of course i’m talking about PLAYFUL KISS!!  what else could i be talking about, ya?

been following the updates from japan?

yea, what with the First Love Story filming and also the BOF alumni event thingy, fans have had a field day! so funny… (no offence to GHS’ fans), but some of us were saying instead of setting up booth to refund fans coz GHS had to miss tonight’s evening show, they really should be charging more coz with four stars down to three now, wuri hyun joong’s gonna have more ‘air time’, so fans should be rejoicing!

anyway, quite some pics and fancams have surfaced, and i’m certain more will be coming. japanese fan ELLEY has, as usual, been very quick and very kind to share her pics and stuff.

SGTRIPLES is doing priority booking for the tickets to maknae’s fan meet in singapore. yea, that’s happening this month.

reposting of the details is disallowed, but hey, suffice to say the ticket prices ain’t as pricey as i’d first imagined, and per ticket package seems to include quite a fair bit of things. not a bad deal at all.

happy tuesday!

annyong STARLINGs!

how’s everyone? and for those of you from singapore, trust that you’ve had a superb long weekend, ya? this time of the year never fails to make me feel extra patriotic, does it do the same to you?

anyway, today opened with some rather ‘big’ news… jung min‘s message about having finally decided on his new agency had triggered QUITE MANY NEWS ARTICLES.

to be honest, i personally think the ‘waiting’ is getting kindda ridiculous. some of you already know how i feel about the five of them having ‘wasted’ such precious time over the past two years. some of their juniors had debut and released more works than our five boys within the same period of time.

and…. knowing jolly well their contracts with DSP were coming to an end in early june, surely they didn’t only start to think about their future after 8th june?? and even then, some two months have passed, so what’s the plot…? surely they know better than anyone else the harsh reality that time and tide wait for no men? even if they don’t seem to comprehend the theory and logic of striking the iron while it’s hot, surely they would know that youth is everything in the cruel and extremely ‘forgetful’ kpop idol world…?

i hope with wuri hyun joong and now jung min stepping out to share their decisions, it won’t be long when the other three too take a decision and start moving on with their future work activities. seriously, no matter what the future holds, no matter if the fans will be sad or distraught by whatever news, impasse is about one of the worst situations to be in. the future can only happen if one moves on and moves forward.

meanwhile, wuri hyun joong’s busy filming playful kiss! seems like he’s busiest over weekends since filming seems to happen at that girls’ school mostly on weekends. some fan accounts, pics and fancams have also been shared HERE.

aigoo… he’s gotta have his friends deliver jaksal chicken to him?!! the very mention of it just makes me miss seoul and the food there!! thank goodness i had those yummylicous korean-style crispy chicken from 4fingers last night!!

and oh, about maknae’s fan meet (FM)… GENESESDREAM, the malaysian organizer updated on THEIR FB PAGE about the status of the ticket sales about 12 hour ago.

and earlier today, they also shared that there’ll be a special guest gracing the occasion of the FM in KL. they gave a hint about the identity of this guest… (daebak?)

then set people off to start guessing who’s coming…. most said kim kibum from Ukiss… though some are hoping that it’ll be young saeng or kyu…

and then over an hour ago, they updated again…. said they’d deleted the hint coz they’d received requests to keep it under wraps and confidential until the FM itself. here’s the latest FB update,

As per request, the guest will be confidential until the event day. Therefore, we have to delete the previous status which contained the hint. Sorry. End of guess time.


so what do you think…? would the special guest be coming to singapore as well? my guess is… unless it’s a malaysian artist making a special appearance, chances are it’s a korean artist. and since he/she’s already in KL, he/she will probably popover to singapore as well…

Q: I will be going to Face to Face Sales. Do I still need to book online?
A: No. Ticket will be sold with first-come first-serve basis. Online Purchase is ONLY for those who couldn’t come to Face to Face Sales.

Q: Can I ask Hyung Jun to sign other things for me?
A: No. Only the poster that we provide is allowed.

Q: Can I give present to Hyung Jun?
A: Yes. We will prepare boxes to collect presents.

Q: Can I bring camera?
A: Yes. However, no camera allowed on stage.

Q: Can you lower the price?
A: If we could, we would. For you information, normally Korean artistes are very expensive. If we lower the price, it would be difficult to bring the artistes over to Malaysia.

Q: Can you change the date?
A: For your information, normally we always choose the best date first which is convenient for everyone. However, our final decision is limited with the artiste schedule and their availability. Therefore, we can only bring them here with the time that the artiste is convenient with.

Q: You guys mentioned RM 150 for Fan Meeting and Fan Signing before, what happened to that?
A: Our target is more than 1000 people for RM 150 each. Therefore, it’s impossible for all fans to get signature from Hyung Jun (considering the priority of the artiste health) and fans who didn’t manage to get his signature will definitely complain. After deep consideration, we decided to separate it to different packages to make it more comfortable for the artiste and fair to the amount of money that fans pay.


well, i suppose it won’t be long before warner music singapore announces the details of maknae’s FM here. probably the same weekend, i’d guess…. going, anyone?

incidentally, i think SgTriples and Quainte501 will be making effort to contact and liaise with warner music singapore to try and see how they can support maknae’s event here. do check out their sites for updates, ya?

[OTA] time for a new (blog) read!

shhh… i waited and i waited for hours for the other two princesses to go to bed…  why?  so that i can steal space here to tell you about MY NEW BLOG, wakakaka!



you know, i’ve been toying with this idea for an ultra looooooong time already. i’ve been blogging since july 2005, yea, i’ve just crossed the five-year milestone. considering blogging’s not exactly an age-old thing, that’s really one helluva milestone, ya? i started that as a fanblog for my YJ, but along the way, i started sharing my life and my thoughts.

and then last november, the three princesses started this KHJ blog. same thing, somehow i just couldn’t seem to resist putting in my personal tidbits in here, resulting in the creation of the OTA [Off-Topic Alert] category.


yea, i guess enough is enough and lord knows i’ve stuck at blogging for this long, long enough for me to know this is for keeps. and it’s bothered me that i don’t really have my own space. one is BYJ fanblog, and one is a KHJ fanblog… although i do feel relatively free to blog my heart out most times, there’re also occasions when i actually take pity on the gals who would come by in search of celeb news and stuff, only to be bombarded by loooooooooong ramblings from me.

and of course, the narcissistic side of me, too, wants to have my own space where i can really blog my life, my heart, my thoughts and even my insecurities and my fears out. it will be entirely my own space and i can paint it whatever colour i want. whoever visits that blog will visit the blog for MY contents, and not because they’re BYJ fans or KHJ fans, but because they’re intrigued and/or interested enough to hear what i wanna say.


i guess this is the perfect time for it too, having completed my five years as a blogger. i just did a count last week. i’d clocked close to 4,000 posts in these five years, and that’s an average of 2.33 posts a day. yea, that’s even more than a full-time blogger. that’s proof enough that i really really really love to write, and that’s proof enough that i can’t get sick of my own writing…

(and the other two princesses also have their own personal blogs^^)


anyway, to celebrate my five-year milestone, i’ve decided to give myself a pressie. my own domain, my own blog.

it’s still terribly new and ‘sparse’ over there, but could you please pretty please pop over and shower me with abit of love? yea, it’s time for a new read^^




YAY! the pink princess is also blogging on HAPPIEBB.com (don’t think i didn’t think of registering princessbb.com… i did, i did, i did…!!  but it was taken already by some bed & breakfast place called princess *faintz*)

and oh, don’t be surprised at the relative simplicity of that new blog’s entire look and feel.  that’s really more representative of me.  i’m a very black-and-white type of person, and i like clarity and space, and i like simplicity and for things to be clear and uncomplicated.  nothing fanciful, nothing overly hi-tech.

just me and my white canvas, ready to be written on.

[OTA] happy birthday, princess

yea, it’s one of the three princesses’ birthday today!

hee, actually emz‘ birthday celebration started really early…!! it had started as early as last saturday when WE WENT SHOPPING and the gals bought her a lovely cocktail dress from that boutique…

keke, i ain’t telling yet! i know, i know, a few of you gals have asked, but…. shhhh… maybe later, k?


then seems like her (offline) good friends bought her a birthday meal on wednesday. she’s blogged about it HERE.

and that’s not all…!! on friday night, she was out gallivanting in town with some STARLINGs! the korean-style fried chicken was yummylicious! read all about HERE!

but the STARLINGs celebrated for her last night. i had something on, and could only join them at around 11pm. just in time to countdown to her birthday at 12 midnight! and oh, before it’s too late, let me say this…




May this year be your best ever.
I hope all your birthday dreams and wishes come true.
Not just a year older, but a year better.

i kindda wanna share abit of my impressions of the turquoise princess.

she’s a tall, slim and pretty girl with fair skin.

the operative word in the preceding sentence?

the word ‘girl’… ^^

yea, me thinks this princess is younger in her mental age than her age per se. perhaps it’s the comparatively more sheltered upbringing, perhaps it’s the not-exactly adventurous route of a local grad that singapore churns out by the thousands every year, perhaps it’s the stability of her career, perhaps it’s the somewhat more conservative nature of the industry she’s in, perhaps it’s her own choice of keeping a more risk-free lifestyle…?

although the pink one strong believes there’s a little girl in all of us, there really is a very real small girl inside the turquoise one!  and when she’s amongst people she’s comfortable enough with, she lets her out to play pretty often too!




this princess also likes to take pics.

i know i do too, but she’s alot more precise and particular than me. for instance, i’ve always described myself as a photographer of convenience. i only take pics when it’s convenient for me. if it involves crossing the road to the other side to get a better shot, or moving a few things to get a clearer view, nay, i’ll just make do with whatever. keke, my excuse? i just tell people i’m a blogger and i’m telling stories as they happen, so no need for posed or contrived shots. most of the time, people believe me, haha!

but emz is abit different, i think she makes more effort to get it right.

again, me thinks the character traits are at play there. she’s the more cautious kind, someone who prefers to be prepared and someone who probably dislikes showing others her flaws or shortcomings. i guess it must be fairly important to her to show her best to everyone. shows a strong pride? with a hint of stubborn streak? me thinks so…




and oh, one more difference between us, emz loves to selca!

then again, she has all the reasons to love selca! she’s pretty and she’s very photogenic!




and oh, talking about the little girl living inside the princess, me thinks she’s got a sensitive soul. hee, though i suspect the turquoise one probably won’t agree with me much… but hey, really… that’s the vibes you give out, midear.

but so long as it’s not excessively so, being sensitive is not a bad thing. at least it speaks of a person who’s not immune to her environs, surrounds and the people around her, ya? we sensitive people just have to learn to apply our sensitivity positively and to the right things, and not let it consume us.

my own experience with people tells me that overly sensitive people tend to be more negative or pessimistic coz they’ve a tendency to over-think things, and tend to take the darker side if there are two sides. sensitive people also get mad, get jealous, get sad, and get suspicious more easily… all these are the easiest ways to NOT be happy.

and there’s nothing i want more for my friends to be happy^^

[OTA] sundown festival 2010

now this kindda came really late, so i’m blogging this kindda late too…

the kpoppers amongst you may be attending SUNDOWN FEST, or those of you following TIFFANYKIMCHILAND’s blog would at least have heard about it.




incidentally, tiff‘s just blogged about it too, yea, am talking about sundown festival that’s happening in singapore right this weekend. i know some of the kpop fans are disappointed with this year’s line-up coz instead of doing a full kpop night, the organizers went to mesh kpop with jpop.

strange… did they think a pop is a pop is a pop…? then why not put in mandarin pop and canto pop too? after all, they’re all asian pop^o^

seriously, and for jpop, they’d gone and arranged for visual rock bands to come too! aigoo…. visual rock is obviously non-mainstream and kpop is, well, part of popular culture and by that inference, it’s mainstream. whatever made them think that fans of visual rock would fancy mainstream popular korean music…? duh…

that said, for someone like me, it could be interesting. neither a big fan of visual rock nor kpop, at least i get a sampling of both. i guess the organizers should pray hard that there’ll be people like me. then again, why on earth would people like me be willing to fork out more than a hundred bucks to see or hear bands that they don’t really connect with? i really wonder at the decision-making process. the only thing i can safely deduce is that the final decision-maker, whoever that is, is probably not a fanatical music lover.

After School is a South Korean girl group from Pledis Entertainment. The group first debuted in 2008 but eventually made a proper debut on 17 January 2009 with the first single, ‘Ah!’. [OTA] boring weekend account…

am sure i’ve said umpteen times i’ve been mad busy these days. in fact, i was still working just 15 minutes ago, but decided to take a mini-break to blog about my weekend before i go back to my work.

hee, my weekend started from friday evening. supposed to go over to a good friend’s place for some after-dinner drinks. i’d arranged to meet my two bestest girlfrends to pick up some bread from BREAD OF LIFE BAKERY and also for dinner.


heard of BOL bakery?

if you haven’t, i strongly urge you to give it a try. their bread, cakes and browines are free of preservatives, and low in sugar. in fact, they even have a steamed (chocolate) brownie product that’s sugar-free! super healthy, and suitable for diabetic patients too. and believe me, it tastes fab too! guilt-free snacks when you need a sugar rush.




other than the outlet at promenade exchange, i believe most of BOL bakery outlets are kiosk/cart style like this.




me likes to buy these for friends’ families when i pop over to their place. whether they’ve elderly parents, growing kids, or sisters who are watching their weight, BOL bread and buns make fab snacks for everyone!




and… they’ve recently launched a new product called korean buns…! they’re actually chewy buns, and i bought the chocolate-flavoured chewy korean buns to try last friday. me likes! you oughta try ‘em sometime!




guess how much we’d bought last friday…? hehe, not a lot lah, but can’t say it ain’t much either!




and oh oh, i’d mentioned about the sugar-free steamed chocolate brownie earlier, ya? here, this is how it looks.



okie, now we move on from bread and buns to BFFs, keke!

who was it who had asked me if BFFs stand for Big Fat Friends…??

that was so hilarious! i’d shared this with my BFFs last friday, and they both cracked up big time too!

anyway, i’ve known these two since forever, yea, since secondary school days. in fact, we’ve known one another for over twenty years; we’re fairly confident that we’re gonna be friends for keeps! it sure is nice being enveloped in the warm security that these lovely gals will probably always be there.

you know how friends drift apart if they don’t see each other for sometime? and yet there are those few peeps in your life that no matter how long it’s been that you haven’t seen each other, you’ll be able to hook up and connect in no time? yea, i’m glad i’ve got a few of these good pals around.

i know i’ve often thanked my friends for their friendship on my blog, but i ain’t just paying lip service. i truly am immensely grateful. i’m not the easiest person to get along with, and lord knows i’ve been told enough times in my life that i can be quite intimidating… so how to find friends, for goodness’ sake?!

besides, it doesn’t help that i’m quite a lousy friend, and i’m not your incredibly sensitive, considerate type of girl, so… hmmm, that’s why i’ve always wondered about what good deeds i must have done in my past life to deserve fabulous friends such as them.


sometimes i think i’m not a nice person, since i don’t believe in niceties, being social and making small talk. or rather, it’s not so much that i don’t believe in it, it’s more of i don’t know how. i’m so straightforward and so easy to read and such a serious and dogged person that i’ve no idea how to make small talk in social settings. i prefer deep, serious topics, and i strive on intellectual exchanges, or even arguments!

heck, i don’t even so much as pick up the phone to call someone to chitchat. and know what? amongst pals who know me quite well, they know that when they receive a call from me, chances are i’m after something. yea, i don’t call people for no good reason, ya? so surely i must be needing something when i actually call.

and since i can’t make small talk like i can’t write concisely to save my life, i’ll normally just call up someone and start talking about whatever it is i’ve called up the person for. yup, i don’t even make a pretense of trying to catch up, or making small talk before i broach the subject.

and… i’m kindda ‘famous’ for it (not that i’m proud of it…) so much so that when i call any of my closer friends, both parties will dispense of all social norms and mores. most typically, either i’ll jump straight in, or they would ask me what it is that i want, hehe!

sounds terrible, right? yea, that’s why i’ve always said i’m so darned thankful for the friends i have. ahhh… the things they have to put up with?!! and they’re mostly so tolerant and indulgent towards me. thank you, pals!


anyway, back to friday evening… we had a quick bite before driving over to our new-found-shopping-love to ‘play’ abit before going to another friend’s place. we love the place coz it’s huge, and the clothes are nice and affordable! and coz the three of us like to try on dresses and this boutique has got lots of dresses! (and new stocks arrive every monday, keke!)




there’re two fitting areas inside the boutique, and each area has got its own sitting area. so as your girlfriend’s trying on clothes, you can lounge around to wait and give her your comments on each outfit. it’s totally relaxing and mighty fun! (i only hope not too many people find out about this gem of a place, coz i’m fairly sure service attitude will suffer and tolerance for long-staying customers will go down once the place becomes crowded…)

hee, each time i bring a new friend, i make them swear not to bring anyone else, or maybe maximum two more friends, haha! (you hear, emz and miyo…??)


still on friday evening, we three gals were just ‘playing’ in a boutique. did i say yet my two girlfriends are very goodlooking and have got fab figures? yea, they wear mostly small sizes, and if they can’t fit into the small sizes, it’s probably coz of their nicely-endowed tops.

after ‘playing’ for awhile, it was really just awhile since we didn’t have much time before we’re expected to turn up at the other friend’s place. so we hurriedly went over to our friend’s place. spent some four to five hours there, chatting over wine and cheese!

have i mentioned before that i used to have a nickname, goldfish? nay, not because of my eyes; it’s because of the way i eat. if it’s something that i like, regardless of how full i am, i’ll just keep on eating, keke!  i ate sooooo… much cheese friday night!!




so, exactly how much cheese did we eat that night?

hee, me thinks it’s about half a kilo.

well, but like my BFFs said, “they’re so worth getting fat for!”

we’re already planning our next night out of wine and cheese, keke!  it was so nice to just sit around and talk about everything and nothing.  before we knew it, we had chatted some four, five hours away and it was past 2am, time to go home!


as for saturday, i was out with the two princesses, keke! we lazed around abit at one of our fave haunts, just chatting, dreaming (about future possibilities) and of course, we’d discussed about the forum, wuri hyun joong and and and activities too!

then yet another of my mighty good friend popped by to show us his new toy, yea, the iPad!! (aish, it really IS an object of desire!!)

and i’d brought the princesses to that new-found-shopping-love too! we spent over two hours in that shop just trying on clothes and it was mighty good fun..!!  we then continue to hang out at starbucks till about 4am^^


yea, life’s good.

does he really look like YJ…?

now this is gonna be ‘controversial’, ya?

i mean, which fan wants her idol to resemble someone else, or worse, to be called a ‘little’ version of another star? to practically all fans, her idol is the most unique one and there can only be one of such kind, blah blah blah… yea, yea, i know, i know.


wuri hyun joong has been touted as LITTLE BYJ since some time back. the hottest of this topic was probably during the BOF days. somehow, the character rui (yoon jihoo in the korean drama version) reminded many of YJ, even bae-fans.




i remember i was at a fellow bae-fan TIFFANY’s home with some fellow bae-fans sometime early last year. for some reason, she played a BOF epi on her computer, and yea, there started the convo that hyun joong looked like BYJ! goodness, imagine… even bae-fans think that!




but to be honest, i never thought they look THAT alike. in fact, me thinks se7en, lee jung jin and choi philip look more like my YJ than wuri hyun joong. there was once se7en was spotted at the airport and bae-fans all thought it was YJ! click HERE to check out the pic that misled so many of us bae-fans.

as for wuri hyun joong, me thinks he looks alot like yamapi and also lee dong gun, see the comparison HERE.


but recently, i had a chance to sit down with someone who used to work for my YJ quite closely and for quite sometime. someone whom i would imagine knows YJ’s face very very well, so well that it’s probably not easy for him to see any resemblance of him in another person unless the resemblance’s really strong.

well, over dinner, he said, “i think kim hyun joong really looks like BYJ…”

my chopsticks literally froze mid-air. not only that i didn’t see that coming, i definitely didn’t see that coming from him! so i guess more people must have seen the resemblance than i do… somehow, me thinks the two look quite different, and give out different vibes.


then again, if they’re really so different, why am i so drawn to wuri hyun joong? i mean, i’ve been a bae-fan since 2002 and all these years, never ‘swayed’ and never had eyes for another korean chap. until january 2009 when wuri hyun joong came along and i was a goner.

maybe… just maybe there’s something common in both these two men that appeals to me…? and sometime last year, even the media said my YJ would have been perfectly suited to play the rui character had they decided to produce the drama 15 years ago, keke! click HERE to read that article.

but i still don’t think they look THAT alike… but i’m inclined to reserve my final comments coz of what happened this evening, keke!




now we all know that wuri hyun joong supposedly had a 5pm meeting with japanese-actor-turned-director, oguri shun, ya? yea, the two who had played the rui character in the korean and japanese version of the BOF manga were scheduled to meet to chitchat, and also be interviewed by DATV and selected press. (yea, by now we all know that they met at YJ’s restaurant, gorilla in the kitchen…)




and… my YJ has been away in the states since early july and is reportedly going back to seoul end of this month.

then then then… earlier this evening, i received word that my YJ has returned to seoul, and he’s in gorilla right then! omo, i got excited… and my mind started wondering if wuri hyun joong’s still there and whether any lucky fans would be able to spot the two together, blah blah blah…


then later… i got another message that oopsies, it’s a false alarm.

seems like my YJ’s still not back.

understand that since afternoon, there were already BYJ and KHJ fans waiting outside gorilla. and when wuri hyun joong arrived, some bae fans actually mistook him for my YJ…!!

i guess it’s possible to be mistaken, especially if you’re standing at a certain distance. after all, it IS my YJ’s restaurant and he’s often spotted there. and… wuri hyun joong’s just had a haircut and new hair color, so it’s entirely possible that bae fans didn’t recognize him at first glance, especially if he was ushered into the restaurant hurriedly.

and… hyun joong was wearing an all-black suit-ensemble today, something that my YJ is often seen in... (yea, both men seem to like wearing black, even when they’ve to dress themselves for their private schedule) both are of the same height, 180cm.

doesn’t ‘help’ that wuri hyun joong had gone to gorilla (GIK abbreviated from gorilla in the kitchen as some bae fans call it) in keyeast’s ‘royal ride’, THE UTLRA-EXPENSIVE MAYBACH.

hee, the ‘royal ride’ is usually used to ferry my YJ, so i guess wuri hyun joong’s considered one mega-watt artist in the keyeast stable (as if we would have guessed otherwise, keke!)




(and oh, if you’d read that last link about my YJ and his cars, just wanna update that he’s since upgraded to a newer model of the range rover, and he’s also disposed of the porsche and gotten a FERRARI. and of course, all in black. hee, remember? YJ is the man who believes that there’s only one colour for cars – BLACK.)


so all these caused some bae fans to be mistaken and thought that my YJ’s back in town.  also, coz there’re so many security staff stationed there, the tour guide of some tour packages tailored for bae fans thought YJ’s returning, keke!  guess with wuri hyun joong joining keyeast, the bae fans, tour guides and what-have-yous have better start familiarize themselves with with hyun joong’s face so that there’ll be no more cases of mistaken identity^^

yea, so the truth of the matter is they had mistaken wuri hyun joong for YJ…! so funny, i thought!

[OTA?] on giving… & whatever else

first things first, am sure some of you have read MY POST ABOUT HELPING THAT POOR FAMILY. am touched that you gals feel sympathy and wanna help. am even more touched that some of you want LKHJ to lead the donation drive. guess you really do trust us, ya?


but i wanna say that i’ve since spoken with some people and i’ve also given it abit of thought, and decided that LKHJ won’t be organizing a donation drive. you see, the local papers have highlighted the family’s plight, and with jocelyn’s FB shoutout, i understand that quite a number of people have hurried with the donation already. for now, the family should be alright.

in fact, some of us are worried about the possibly sudden (and possibly huge) influx of funds for the family. we’re in fact wondering if it would be a repeat of the ‘MRT case’ where something like half a million (singapore) dollars was raised for the family left behind by the deceased. if that’s the case, i hope the mother knows to pace the spending and maybe even set aside a trust fund of some sort for the youngest boy.


anyway, my family will probably be making our own small contribution to the family anyway. and if you too wish to do the same, please check out jocelyn’s FB and follow the donation instructions.

otherwise, if you have your usual way/s of giving back to the society or reaching out to help the less privileged, i think it’s alright if you wanna ‘sit out’ this one. they should be OK, or at least financially for now. the pain from the loss of a loved one is something else, and i hope the mother will be strong enough for the four kids.


still on the topic of giving, i wanna say i’ve always felt quite lucky when it comes to all this fandom business.

nay, i ain’t talking about luck in meeting my yong joon or wuri hyun joong. am talking about whilst there are unpleasant fan experiences (yes, there ARE…!), i’ve been fortunate that there are some mighty sharing and generous ones that come into my life.

i don’t know why and i don’t know exactly what i’ve done to deserve this; actually most of the time i’m half-afraid to be on the receiving end of pressies from fellow fans. coz even with my bae-fans, many of them would thank me as they give me pressies. (but but but… thank me for what…? what have i done to deserve their gratitude?)


but yea, over the years, whenever i travel to other countries and if i make the effort to meet with fellow fans, i always always always come back with practically overflowing gifts. really…!

there’re so many pressies from my tokyo trip last october my BFF had to watch me pull my hair out when i was trying to pack everything in. i was near tears as i sat on the floor in the hotel room, with all the stuff scattered all around me as i made my Nth effort to try repacking. in the end, i gave up. i just brought back the stuff in carriers^o^

such is the generosity and love of the fans. and i know some of these things ain’t exactly cheap stuff, and they really really really don’t have to. i ain’t looking for pressies when i go meet them; i just want their company and perhaps to have a meal together or something. i ain’t even looking for a treat, let alone pressies. it’s actually embarrassing when they come showering me with such pressies, whilst no matter how hard i’ve tried to prepare beforehand, i still come up short for their pressies.

(then again, for them, it’s buying for just me and for me, if i meet a dozen, it’s buying pressies for a dozen… errr, i can’t be buying expensive stuff for so many people, keke!)


anyway, i’m actually quite surprised that this ‘practice’ is also evident amongst the STARLINGs. amongst ‘our usual group’, i know of a few who are very nice to me. they would think of me when they see certain things, like skully tee, shoeholic tee, starry stuff… and we’ve even received a moet & chandon champagne in pink(!) from these lovely ladies!

and even from overseas fans… like when lavender saw the skullcandy earphones in pink and thought of me. and yea, she actually bought them for me! i’d posted about it HERE.




and then, very recently, i’ve even gotten a pack of nice-nice frothy instant cappuccino from chrislyn!

goodness, i don’t even remember blogging about how i adore good instant cappuccino that ain’t too sweet! for quite a few years now, the only instant coffee i drink at home is the instant cappuccino from a very ‘biang’ brand, aik cheong!

did i ever blog about that? i seriously cannot remember, but i don’t think i did. so how then did chrislyn learn of my secret obsession with instant cappuccino…?!




yea, there’s something else in the pic… i know, i know… that’s a ‘new acquisition’, keke!

STARLING christine was in hokkaido on a tour recently and while there, she remembered the princesses and how we love chocolates! and goodness, she didn’t just buy a box of those oh-so-famous choco-cookies for us, she’d bought three, one for each of the princesses!

i know those ain’t cheap, and serious, she really shouldn’t have, and needn’t have! and yea, i told her so. but she’s already bought them, and it’s only gracious to thank her nicely and accept the gifts. (and yea, they’re yummylicious! and yea, they’re ALL gone! at least mine are all gone, not sure about the other two, keke!)

so thank you, chrislyn and thank you, christine!


and moving on… do you remember OUR SPREE ON LEADER’s QUILTED BAG? most of you have gotten your bags by now, and i believe quite a few of you have even used yours.

keke, i know i have. i’ve used it twice already. once for an overnight trip to KL and another time for LKHJ‘s first official gathering the weekend before last. me love it! in fact when i was using it in KL, i had people asking me about the bag, and they weren’t even fans!

and oh, one STARLING bought it and ‘paraded’ it on her FB account. hee, her friends are asking about her about it! she’d texted me today to ask if LKHJ‘s gonna be doing another round of spree for this. actually i’m thinking about it, and may just organize one more round next month. so if you’re interested to buy, just watch this space closely, k?


during the last round, a STARLING from hong kong ordered hers from me too. and very recently, i got someone to help me deliver the bag to hong kong since her colleague was travelling there. so yea, that overseas STARLING got her bag already^^

but but but… haiyo, she too was ‘naughty’!! she had passed a bag to my friend’s colleague for me. i had just gotten it tonight. here, have a look!




yea… she’s got pressies for me…!

i feel so bad…!! pruepieces…!!did you feel obliged to get me something coz you’d ordered stuff from me? please don’t, k?

like i said earlier, we’re doing what we’re doing coz we want to, and if we’re giving our time voluntarily, we really ain’t looking for any rewards, compensation or whatsoever.

while i can’t speak for the other two princesses, i know it gives me pleasure to be able to provide a space for fellow fans to have abit of fun in. while it can be incredibly time-consuming and energy-consuming to maintain the forum and the blog and there’re times when i feel i must be crazy to think that i can manage so much… but most of the time, i feel quite happy that you gals seem happy with what we’re doing.


again, i wanna stress this, no need to buy us expensive stuff, k? but for those who had already done so, please don’t think i’m not grateful for the gifts. i do love being remembered and being thought of, but i really feel abit bad and even guilty accepting them when i feel i haven’t done much anyway (^.^;)


and the strangest of strange thing…?

just like the cappuccino, i can’t remember if i’ve mentioned liking agnes B. and if i did, it was years ago and it was on my other blog HERE. so how did pruepieces know? or was it just a lucky guess…?

it’s so strange that she’d bought something from agnes B, and that it’s in silver with some black, and it’s got a STAR in it too! and keke, there’s even a letter B on the star! with this B on the star, and the other B-charm on the bracelet, it makes BB!  i guess you could even say it’s got my name written on it, keke!

so thank you very much, pruepieces!




but what truly truly touched me was the thought behind it all. i shan’t divulge the contents of what she’s written coz it’s personal and i’m not sure if she wants me to share… but oh my, handwritten letters are the best, i tell you! and i love it even more when it’s looooooooong! hey, you did well even though you said you haven’t written a letter by hand in something like a decade!

and… you’d even gone through the trouble of finding a pink minnie mouse letter pad!!


i feel sooooo… touched! and was suddenly reminded of PROJECT NEW BEGINNINGS. yea, i guess it was really a good thing i decided to handwrite all those messages. the feeling of receiving something handwritten is really really really different from receiving something that’s typed and printed out.  i guess wuri hyun joong must feel quite special to receive all those handwritten messages.

really. i’d experienced it firsthand^^


and i also remember KADD’s HANDMADE CARD for my birthday this year.  and i also remember the postcards that my dear fan-friends satovic and camille had sent me from whereaway places where they’re holidaying at!  me loves receiving postcards!  (hey, maybe we should do a postcard activity for wuri hyun joong one day!)

yea, there’s just something special about handmade stuff. something that an expensive luxury or branded gift cannot give. or maybe it’s just me, the conservative and very old-school me. but somehow, i’ve a very strong feeling my yong joon and wuri hyun joong are both old-school too.


now i’ve posted about it coz i’m truly grateful for the gifts. but i also wish to tell all STARLINGs you really don’t have to buy us anything. i’m not sure why you feel ‘compelled’ to buy us stuff, or to thank us… we’re doing whatever we’re doing coz we want to. it makes us happy enough that you enjoy your time on the forum and on the blog enough to want to stay on, to want to come back.

want to make us happier? just post more and even better, help to repost more, ya? don’t have to buy us anything, k?

whoa, it’s a super looooooog and rambling post! and guess what?! i ain’t done yet! since it’s already so long, and all jumbled up, i wanna post a random pic, keke!

well, i caught up with two good pals from my ex company for dinner. it was lovely chatting and recollecting our travelling days together, including INDIA, JAPAN, ARGENTINA, MOSCOW, the many many trips to hong kong and SHENZHEN, etc…

they were such lovely peeps to work with, and good lord, the stuff that we’d gone through together! dinner was so-so, but the company was fab! so fab that we adjourned to the bar next to the restaurant for some dessert and drinks.

lovely monday night i had, hope yours was great too!




but but but… i know the day hasn’t been exactly happy for some people. am sure you gals know of liezle’s and OdeDS‘ blogs, ya? and of course, of late there’s 501WANGJA.

seems like they’d suffered a minor setback in the sense that the duo running the site woke up to find their videos and most of their photos all wiped out! the gals are still in action and still blogging and meanwhile, trying to sort out what’s happened. aigoo… that reminds me, better backup everything that’s precious.

and if you run a blog, a site or forum, do setup some routine backup, k?


other than 501wangja, i also read from SOOMPI that something’s happened to all fora hosted on Ipbfree. seems like they’d removed all the fora without prior warning!

If you have tried visiting KHJ International over the past few days you might be wondering where we went? Well, we did not delete our forum, it was wiped by the company Ipbfree.com for reasons that remain secret to all Ipbfree users. All Ipbfree communities were wiped including Ipbfree’s own support forum. This is all I will say about the wipe because it seems to be dangerous to say much else.

Hyunnies United: Kim Hyun Joong International Forum is still going strong but the wipe has left us having to rebuild from scratch. No backup data was kept from the old forum. We need all the help we can get in rebuilding our community.

All registrations will have to be approved by the admin (SoraMio) that’s me silly! This is only temporary soon everyone will be able to register without my approval. I am just trying to regather the original staff first so we can get things set up nicely for everyone.

I welcome any help and support at this time. Hyun Joong has a new drama coming up “Playful Kiss” and this is definitely a time for big promotions. He also still has activities with SS501 which still need big promoting too. Hyunnies United loves all of SS501, Hyun Joong is just our favorite, but he is a “Group Artist” not a solo artist.


now i’ve gotta confess i ain’t familiar with KHJ International (Hyunnies United). of course i’ve heard of it and have registered an account on it. but somehow the site never ‘spoke’ to me, if you know what i mean. then again, i ain’t the sort to go everywhere to post and reply anyway…

but that said, i also ain’t the sort to view fellow fansites as competition, so whilst some of you may question the wisdom of me telling STARLINGs about the existence of other KHJ sites, i think nothing of it. i mean, you could easily find a dozen more by googling, haha!

anyway, if you’re looking for KHJ International, but find it gone, try THIS NEW LINK.  understand that the admin team is trying to create and build another site.  the saddest thing is there’s no backup and quite literally, everything’s gone.  my heart feels for them. that site’s been around even longer that LKHJ, so i can only imagine the amount of data lost.

they said they’re looking at using their own domain name and hosting solution. yea, that should be the way if you’re serious about keeping the site, i think. personally, i’ve always hated those free forum hosting that has lots of blinky ads here, there, everywhere. me likes my things simple and uncomplicated, and blinky-bling only when i want them to.


and just before i go…

know what? the TONY MOLY SINGAPORE team is really very much into the whole social media business! not only have they tried to get our interest through FB and twitter even before they open, they’ve also been interacting with us! and i’ve gotta say they’ve been mighty responsive to fans too!

i know they’ve also been reading the blog posts that mention tony moly singapore, and they’ve also replied some of these blog posts. yea, they replied to us HERE too!

oopsies! the pink princess had commented about their watermark and now they know… then again, i was just being my usual honest and forthright self. no offense intended, and i sure hope no offense taken^^

so far, my interaction with the people over at tony moly singapore has been fairly positive, and i hope they will remain communicative and receptive. working with fans is actually a fab way to get our ‘buy-in’.

my heart’s feeling somewhat heavy as i’m blogging this. so forgive me if this is long and dry and probably sad.


remember earlier this year, LKHJ had gathered STARLINGs’ support to help the haitian earthquake victims? you gals gave so generously, i was so proud of you. and oh, incidentally, i’ve received an email from the korean side (thanks, violet!) which came with an attachment of the thank you letter the UN had sent to the coalition of fanclubs in support of the worthy cause. go check it out HERE.


anyway, back to why i’m blogging now even though i’m feeling so tired and sleepy. now while singapore is a rather affluent society generally and its people enjoying fairly reasonable standards of living, there exists a small group of people who are living on the borderline of poverty. or they may even be in poverty.

(fortunately?) many of us have not even seen poverty in the face, particularly the more blessed younger ones whose worries are more about whether they should upgrade their iphone to the latest gen 4, and whether they should be going to tokyo or seoul…. than to wonder about when their next meal will be.

sometimes i think these kids have it so good that it’s spoilt them so much that they will not be able to withstand hardship. and i worry for them, being so sheltered and so pampered. anyway, that’s beside the point.

(i was poor when i was growing up, but somehow i’d grown up all proud and all… and i think for what’s worth, i was given a good upbringing and i’m ‘rich’ in terms of values. me thinks the best things parents can give to their children are a good education and a good value system. everything else, the kids can earn themselves with the education, the value system and some good old hard work!)

this was aired just a few months ago. heartbreaking to watch, no? the family’s so poor it’s almost unthinkable to so many of us, ya? yea, even me, and i thought i’d grown up in a poor family.

and you know what? the poor family’s fate just got worse, and i don’t know why, but my tears are actually threatening to fall as i’m penning this post right now.

the sole breadwinner of the family, yea, the father just died in a freak accident on friday.

he was just sitting on the upper deck of a public bus when the crane boom of a lorry smashed right through the window and killed him in his seat. he probably didn’t even see it coming.

A BUS commuter died on Friday after the crane boom of a lorry smashed into the upper deck of the bus he was in.

The 5m-long crane mounted on the bed of the lorry smashed through the left upper deck of Bus Service No. 87. at around 3.30pm on Friday

The impact ripped windows, warped steel and sent shattered glass all over the commuters as the bus continued to move for about 20m before it screeched to a halt.

The dead commuter, 50-year-old Ahmad Lispa, was killed in his seat. His bloodied body was found slumped in a crumpled section at the rear of the upper deck.

Eight other passengers on the bus were injured in the accident on Bedok North Road. Two of them, a woman in her teens and another in her 20s, were taken to Changi General Hospital with serious injuries.

A pregnant woman, in her 30s, who complained of back pain was taken to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Mr Ahmad bin Lispa, whose family was featured in the first season of MediaCorp Channel 5′s RenovAID, was killed in a freak accident yesterday (16 July 2010).

If you have read the news: a crane mounted on a lorry belonging to a landscape management company, smashed through a double-decker bus along Bedok North Road yesterday afternoon.

The casualties: 1 dead, 2 in intensive care, 6 outpatients.

He leaves behind his wife and four sons, 2 of which has kidney failure/problems, and the youngest son still in primary school. He was the sole breadwinner of his family.

I met the family while working at my current company, they were the first episode I worked on while attached to RenovAID, and coincidentally, they are my block neighbours as well.

If you have seen the family having their dinner, you would feel drenched in sin. Dinner for them, most days of the week, is cabbage soup and 1 tin of sardine split 6-ways with rice.

Remember Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Cabbage soup is what Charlie’s family had everyday, because they could barely afford anything better. That day, as I watched them having dinner, something tugged at my heartstrings.

Their monthly income is barely 1k in a month, and this is with Mr Ahmad, putting in hours of OT at his cleaning job. With him now gone, his wife – Mdm Rokiah, really needs financial help to carry on.

The least I can do as a neighbour, is to help them raise funds, which can hopefully help to ease her burden.

Imagine the person in the accident was someone dear to you, imagine this person is your pillar of emotional and financial support – how would you carry on?

Hey everyone, I like to write abit abt the Ahmad I know. He was a friend of mine and zainal (zack’s) brother. He was an unassuming man, gentle, caring, a loving person and a doting father. He was not loud spoken but humble in demeanor. Once in awhile he would come with some items he would like us to buy which we gladly obliged. We would enjoy a good breakfast together and there were afew occasions he would approached zack for a loan which we gladly gave to him being aware of his family situation. He does not come as an imposing person. We know he was a good man and a responsible man.

Now seems like God’s will to take him home. I thought of the matters after funeral and I reckon the family’s in dire need. I felt a migrain setting in whilst on the way to the morgue pondering over such matters. 2 of his kids are not well and are imperative need of medical attention. His wife isn’t very english conversant and is looking after their children. So now Ahmad has suddenly departed. They’ll need all the support we can muster. There is much to be done after the funeral from cpf claims to litigation, housing and livelihood etc.

Somehow I am really pissed that SBS and Nparks have not send officials to enquire and comfort the family. Are they on off because its a weekend?

I pray for enough help to come to the family to assist them to be self sustaining in the future. And also much strength is need for his wife to keep the family of 4 kids together during this period of grieving.

His wife waited anxiously for his return yesterday. They had wanted to visit their son who was admitted in hospital. I remembered waiting for him too till 9 pm before I went home and caught the news on tv. Me and Hubby pitied the man killed in the accident w/o realizing it was our uncle. In fact earlier my mum in law was caught in a traffic jam where the accident happened w/o knowing that was her brother. I prayed his wife will be strong taking care of her 4 kidz.

okie, this is kindda strange… a little ironic even. while some southeast asian fans have been rejoicing over how tony moly will be OPENING IN SINGAPORE and apparently, also malaysia, i’ve just read that tony moly will be withdrawing from the taiwanese market.


read from SIREN’s blog that it has been rumored for some days now that tony moly counters will be closed at the department stores. so fans started to get curious and called up to ask for more details, including whether standalone stores would be affected as well.

well, it seems like the distributor of tony moly for the taiwanese market wants to shift his focus to the china mainland market and wants to wrap up business in taiwan, so yea, tony moly will be withdrawn from the taiwanese market as a total brand. its official last day of operations is supposedly 31st august 2010.

not sure if the current distributor will continue to be working with tony moly when they penetrate the china mainland market, but i think probably not…? understand that there is already someone distributing the brand in china right now. and oh, the TONY MOLY TAIWAN WEBSITE has been under construction since last year; i just went to have a look… aigOoOoOo, it’s still under construction! seems like the site might never see completion if the withdrawal of the brand proves to be true.

then again, someone else may be appointed as the new distributor in time to come… let’s wait and see…

anyway, if you’re in taiwan or visiting taiwan before end of august, you might wanna pop by the counters or stores. yea, they’re holding clearance sales!

missed me? yea, me miss blogging too!

sorry, sorry, me been mad-busy and am still mad-busy with work. looks like i’m gonna continue to be busy for the coming few weeks, so forgive me if i can’t keep up as much. i will still come online everyday, and you bet i’ll still do my darnedest to update the forum with his news and stuff (and hopefully, with the help of STARLINGs too!)…

but whilst i’ll be reading all of your posts and comments, i may not be able to reply each and every one of you. but i promise you, i will definitely read all posts and comments, or at least those that are nested in threads started by me, k?


now i know some of you are probably wondering what’s up with wuri hyun joong. yea, most of you would know that he was away in LA for awhile.

yea, with the DBSK trio, JYJ.




talking about the trio, they’re actually close to the late park yong ha.

they were in LA for recording work when they received news about their hyung passing on. seems like the trio took to the news quite badly and were very much affected. of course, it didn’t help that they were already working to their bones with the recording work and were on the brink of exhaustion. with that bad news, xiah actually got really ill and had to be hospitalised! understand that jaejoong also (nearly?) went into depression with the bad news; he’s supposedly the closest to park yong ha amongst the three.

anyhow, the trio had completed their recording work and had returned to seoul last night. understand that despite the long flight and all, the three had made an effort to wake up early this morning to make their way to pay their respects to their hyung. click HERE to read more.


what about wuri hyun joong, you asked…?




well, from what i’d heard, he’s also back in seoul. in fact, seems like he had returned to seoul ahead of the DBSK trio. i heard that he’d returned home on saturday.

again, no photos, just like there were no photos of him departing from seoul for LA.

hmmm… seems like he too has mastered the art of disguise from my yong joon?

just as well, if the hearsay about his drama filming work starting next week, then we can only imagine how frantically busy he’s gonna be in the coming months. sure hope that he’s had a good break before he starts work.


while i do want to see him work, but i hope his new agency will keep a lookout on him and try to ensure that he at least gets sufficient rest during drama filming. would hate to see him lose as much weight as he did when filming BOF, and remember all the fainting?

and… everyone would already have heard by now that he’s been selected as the male lead in the korean remake of the japanese manga series, itazura na kiss? yea, there’s a japanese anime version, a japanese drama version, and also a wildly successful taiwanese version, it started with a kiss (ISWAK).

i’ve started a new sub-forum on LKHJ HERE, so all news, pics, clips and tidbits relating to this new kissing drama will be posted in this sub-forum. go visit, go visit, ya?

yea, after a couple of weeks’ delay, the LMBTO mv is out. thanks for the quick upload, shirbogurl and thanks for the heads-up, liezle.

this must be one of those rarest of rare times that i feel sad watching a new mv. whilst i still smile whenever i see the boys doing such adorakable stuff, there’s still this funny feeling inside that’s kindda bittersweet sad, if you know what i mean.

and i also wonder, what would be flashing through the boys’ minds as they watch this?


感触很多吧！虽说五年的时间并不是很长，但对于这几个才二十几岁的大男孩来说也算是五分之一的人生了。

oopsies! sorry, am abit late with this info. but the pink princess was under the weather and also crazily busy, so only managed to steal time to update you gals abit here and now.

suppose those of you active on twitter and/or have lotsa fan-friends would have long heard the news already. seriously, even if you don’t use FB much, i’d suggest that you follow a few key KHJ-related tweeters since that’s possibly one of the fastest ways to update yourselves on his news and all that jazz. and coz it’s so much easier and quicker to update there, and it seems less ‘official and formal’ to tweet stuff, people seem to be more comfortable sharing info on twitter.

if you ask me… whether you like it or not, twitter’s here to stay (yea, imho, even more so than FB). so if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em ^^


anyway, back to the topic on hand.

seems like news (rumours?) started spreading on FB and twitter that tony moly is heading to our shores.

i’ve tried checking the info on FB, but it’s not clear who’s the local distributor. me personally doubt that tony moly will come open stores here on their own, chances are they will be working with a distributor from here. that’s the way most korean cosmetics firms work anyway.

for now, not much info is available. but you can check out the TONY MOLY FB PAGE and also follow them on TWITTER to keep abreast of new developments.

meanwhile, i’ll just repost some pics lifted from their FB page. and to be honest, i can’t say i like their watermark treatment. i mean, these are supposedly professional at work, and not amateurish fansite operators like the pink princess.

let’s hope everything works out well.

KAvenYou’s intro write-up on LKHJ

heard of the new kpop site, KAvenYou.com?

yea, it’s new, and as they’re saying on their own site, they’re slowly but surely building the site into a kpop community portal. now some of you may know how i feel towards allkpop and popseoul…. to me, they’re like the online equivalent of those ‘tutti-fruitti’ papers in hong kong. and oh, the pink princess also thinks that omgkpop is one rung up in terms of editorial quality.

and now, we’ve a new kid on the kpop block, KAvenYou…! hopefully it’s striving towards the omgkpop way instead of the ‘tutti-fruitti’ way ^^

but but but… the good peeps over at KAvenYou has kindly shared that their ‘portal model’ is not exactly like those kpop news portal.  in fact, they were quick to let me know that they ain’t a news aggregator at all, at least not right now.


for now, they’re more a review site whereby they recommend affiliates or kpop-related sites to sort of spread the kpop love to (especially new) followers and function as a resource site for newbies to seek out good sites to check out.  well, one point to note is they aim to provide objective reviews of sites… ahhh, that’s why the extra effort to sieve and sniff out fansites before putting the sites up (yea, the princess likes, and yea, this sort of approach is right up her alley!)

new developments could be related to stuff like what they’re doing with the mystery shopping campaign, i believe…. so it’s worth keeping an eye on that site to see what exciting new developments there could be.


anyway, am delighted to share that the LKHJ intro write-up has already been posted on KAvenYou HERE.




gotta say i’m (pleasantly) surprised that the writer took the trouble to surf our forum and even delve deeper than expected into the various sections. surely some reading had taken place since the write-up was even mentioning about how we call ourselves princesses and you gals STARLINGs! goodness, the write-up also said how the blog’s about our personal antics in addition to wuri hyun joong’s movements, wakakaka!


and oh, here’s one part of the write-up that i wanna bring your attention to….

The forum has a clean and simple red and black layout, maybe a little too simple to render it giving visitors a feeling that it is a fairly basic fansite…


aigoo, i guess they don’t know that we princesses ain’t IT-savvy nor PS-trained, so we don’t fiddle much with the look and feel of the fansite. of course i know that most other fansites would change headers and forum skin ever so often, especially with the change of each season, and/or with each milestone event, like release of an album, birthday, etc etc etc.

but sorry, we just ain’t good at those things. besides, we also ‘justify’ our lack of design changes by maintaining that we’re a noona fansite primarily. since most noona fans, presumably, work, it’s more ‘convenient’ to surf at work and definitely less conspicuous if there ain’t too many blinky GIFs of leader in half-dressed state on the homepage… (and honestly, this princess’ style is inclined towards the simpler and less ‘exciting’ design and layout anyway…)

anyway, hopefully we’ve enough interesting contents and substance to overcome our (comparative) weakness in design and swanky, blinky icons… yea, me hopes our substance ain’t as boring and simplistic as our forum interface, keke!


oh, oh, something interesting’s happening on KAvenYou! they’re holding their first ever Mystery Shopping campaign. and guess what is the first mystery shopping item they’ve picked? it’s our boys’ 501 photobook! do click HERE to read more about the campaign, k?
