Hi5

it’s kindda strange how things can link themselves up sometimes….

wait, or is it me linking things up myself when there’re no clear apparent links…? remember i’d blogged about CREATIVITY AND CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING? yea, maybe it’s more that.

seriously, you don’t need to be arty-farty to be creative… nay, painters, musicians, artists, writers don’t have the monopoly to being creative. we too can be creative in our daily lives, in our thinking, and yea, all these will lead to creative problem-solving. never allow yourself to be tied down by what used to be done in the past. perhaps resources weren’t available back then, perhaps technology wasn’t as advanced back then, so the old ways suited the old times… but maybe, just maybe, there’re newer and more efficient ways to an old problem?

always try to look at things with fresh eyes, and from different angles and perspectives…. and always try to relook issues that used to give you one helluva problem in the past. maybe now, with more experience and all that jazz, you could come up with a better solution than what used to stump you in the past.

incidentally, i just read something from EMZ‘ blog. that blog post is kindda personal and i know she’s rather private, so i ain’t sure if she’s comfortable if i were to paste that link here. but if you follow her personal blog, go read her latest entry (yea, dated today) on winners versus losers.

(emz, i personally agree with that list, and i also think it’s all a mind game. if you think you’re a winner, you’re a winner, and you will start behaving like a winner, and eventually you will emerge a winner. unfortunately, the reverse is true. so, if you can will yourself to believe that you’re a winner, then start behaving like one.

you’re 501% right that losers whine. and they whine alot. my personal belief is the frequency of the whining correlates inversely with the inner strength and determination of the person. to me, these two qualities are must-have traits of a winner. remember what you always always always say… if it is to be, it is up to me.

it’s your life, no one is born a winner or a loser. you make yourself what you end up to be. the more time you spend whining, the less time you spend being happy, or being winners.

and about ‘that problem at work’, i have my theory too, and all these years, it’s proven to work. perhaps i will share one day and you see if my management style suits you too.

if you think you can manage it, you can. if even before you start, you think you can’t do it, then i suggest you don’t even try. coz you’re doomed to fail if you already think you will fail even before doing it. at work, i’ve often found that women tend to be overly sensitive and personal about things… we all can learn to be just a bit tougher mentally, while some of us may never ever be as impartial and impersonal as some Alpha-men can be, we CAN always try harder NOT to take things too personally and be overly sensitive about things. seriously, not everything is about us ^.^

and remember this, we aim not to be a popular boss, we aim to be an effective boss who gets things done and still gain the respect of your people.  especially tricky when managing men, and two things to avoid are (1) breaking down in tears, and (2) having wild mood swings and start lashing out at people.

and i’ve also learn that anger and tears won’t help you solve your problems at work and won’t gain you any mileage or respect. even after throwing a tantrum or crying a river, the problems remain at your desk waiting to be solved. so over the years, i’ve learnt not to waste time getting angry or crying, just bloody solve the problems first coz they will not go away coz i got angry or coz i cried. and more often than not, by the time you solve the problems, you don’t even feel like getting angry or crying anymore…keke!

yea, i’ve been described as having the head of a man and the heart of a woman. but but but… i always silently add, and the soul of a princess and the spirit of a child, haha!)

won’t digress any further than that (coz that’s already a far enough detour, keke!), coz tonight, i do have a real point to make, and i want to make it, so this won’t be a free-flowing and free-falling blog post like always.

anyway, we’re conducting A LITTLE SURVEY on the LKHJ forum, and one of the six questions asked was what sites do the STARLINGs frequent. 99.99% of the answers include SS501UFO.blogspot.

yea, cagali’s blog has been a staple for many many many of us for months. she’s started the blog only in august last year, not too long… but hey, there’re over 2000 posts in all these months! do you even know what this means? that’s like more than five (or ten…?) posts in a day!

an aggregator blog’s hard enough to keep, let alone cagali does the translation for alot of the blog posts too. what takes you five minutes to read may mean some 30 to 60 minutes of translation work for the blogger… including looking up strange names or places or terms, and sometimes checking up on the background of stuff to give you more context, or searching for the relevant clips and pics to include… and then the posting, formatting, and uploading of pics, etc etc etc… yea, multiply that by 2000-over times…

can you even start to imagine how much personal time she’s sacrificed for us, for the boys….?

as things are, most of us are already quite busy with our lives. we all have families and friends, and she works too…. and i know for a fact she has hobbies too… some things can’t be compromised, so in order to carve out time for the translation work and the blogging, she could only sacrifice on her ME-time… meaning she probably has not ‘touched’ her hobbies for months at end, meaning she probably has made some sacrifices on the personal and social aspect of her life… and i know most active fan-bloggers hardly sleep.

of course it’s easy for any one of us to just tell her to BLOG WITHOUT OBLIGATION.

but truth be told, i understand how it’s near-impossible to do a half-way job in this case. if you keep a blog like hers, surely you want to keep it as updated and comprehensive as possible, ya?

cagali is also the type who wants to do things well if she wants to do it at all. so… hmmm….

anyway, all this time when we’re enjoying the fruit of her hard labour, god knows what she has gone through. and what i like and respect about her the most is how she has not complained or hinted at how hard it is to actually keep the fan-blog THAT updated. if it were me, i probably would tell you that it ain’t so easy… see? she’s a much nicer and more admirable person than the princess! the princess can be such a spoilt and attention-seeking brat sometimes, keke!

and i also know for a fact a lot of us fan-bloggers don’t even have the time to watch the very clips that we ourselves post on our own blogs. i’m fairly sure it’s the same for cagali (or liezle, or yen, or…)

after awhile, it does get to us… and the quitting thought would invariably pop up… but sometimes it’s like you’ve come THIS far and you begin to have a sense of responsibility towards your blogders. and you just press on, continuing to lose your ME-time and your sleep… and you tell yourself, maybe i’ll quit after this event, or whatever… and then you’ll find it hard to walk away, and you give yourself abit more time…. so the pendulum-ing happens quite frequently…

until one fine day, you decide that enough is enough. there’s no such thing as the BEST time to quit. now is as good as any other time. so i reckon cagali came to the conclusion that she would stop after PERSONA ENCORE, give herself a couple of weeks to tie up the loose ends and that’s it, she’s walking out.

i know she’s thought about quitting a few times… and when she’d shared her decision with me, i sort of knew this was it. and that there’s no point trying to dissuade her, and in fact, i shouldn’t even try. coz i truly understand the sacrifices she’s made and i think i can see that this time, she’s serious, and she really wants her life back. as a friend, i should be supportive and respect her decision. in fact, i should be happy for her.

but even though i thought i was prepared for her GOODBYE POST, i still got abit antsy about half an hour to midnight tonight. i just kept watching the clock on my notebook and wondered if this really was it.

and yea, it was.

but i really don’t wanna say goodbye, cagali. coz i really really really do hope you’ll stick around and pop up sometimes. go take a good break and we wanna see you around the TS and leader-circuit soon, k? (and hey, you promised your unnie that you’d be in touch, ya?)

and… i’ve already said this a few times on the forum, but i’ll just say it here now. am happy that OdeDS has opened up her blog to the public and am delighted at the speed and coverage of the boys’ news. she seems to be someone who also takes alot of pride in her work, and always taking the trouble to include the extra info, the links for us to have more background info, etc etc etc.

but OdeDS… if you’re reading this, please do pace yourself and make time for yourself. i hope you will be around for a loooooong time… and who knows? maybe cagali can be enticed into joining forces with you, then you two can share the load abit and at least have some semblance of a life, or at least half a life…?

anyway, wanna take the chance to say a big, fat THANK YOU to cagalikira for her dedication and her love and support for the boys. things will not be the same without you.

and cagali, you know what you are?

this is what you are.

My Heart is a STR,
bb ♥

I came from Cagali’s blog site prior to dropping by here and was surprised to read her farewell. I discovered LKHJ blog site through MiniUFO. I m sad that she has decided to stop blogging. I m sure it would have been a difficult decision for her to make. At the end of the day, she has to make a choice based on what will make her happy and content. I wish her the best and hope she drops by the LKHJ forum often.

Very nice idea about joint force..
For information, usually all blogs like cagalli’s blog (outside ss501 fandom such as dbsk: sharingyoochun, dbsknights, suju: sujuworld, sujuforever13) is run by a team, minimal more than 5 people.. And the result are they can cover everything so fast and still exist until now.. Its too much for just 2 people, or even just 1.. Imagine you update all video, news, translate by ur self.. Its okay if you really have ALOT of time. But we cant always have alot of time rite…?
So i really think for the sake of bloggers healthy real life and blogders comfort, and for the sake of spread the love of fandom..
We still need a blog like cagalli’s blog but with more people handle it.. So everything will be healthy ^^
maybe example, just example: ode’s blog can joint with yen’s blog.. So they have more people to update in 1 blog, they can got 4 people already.. Or its really great if cagalli and yuan2 can join again.. It would be 6… Its a win win situation for bloggers and blogders..
But i know blog is ‘personal’ so depend on the person.. ^^
but its really great idea to join force..

      harlow A,
yea… i used to be the head of the translation team over at loveyongjoon.com (the largest BYJ fansite in china)
and during my time, we had a team of some 10 people to work on translation.
we would spread out work and all that…
and if there’s any period anyone is busy, she can just us know and we would cover for each other.
      like you’d rightly put it,
there’s no way someone can do all this updating/translation alone for a protracted period of time.
i guess the boys’ overseas popularity has a relatively shorter period as compared to people like DBSK…?
and there appears to be no one single authoritative fansite that can huddle everyone together…?

i had initially thought quainte501 might be in the position to gather and harness strength,
but they seem quite happy playing within their own playground
and not stepping up visibly to ‘lead’…?
i think such things require one or a few strong heads to lead…
wondering if anyone is up to it, as in willing to try to do something about it,
and also whether she is or they are able to lead effectively or not…

but meanwhile, we at least have xiaochu @quainte501, OdeDS, wingwing… for translation…?
of course i too will do whatever i can in terms of leader news ^.^
am happy to work with others to share the translation load…

    unnie..sob sob*
I was sad when I read your post on miniufo’s folding of business.
She really did put in a lot of effort and time with all the prompt and precise updates. PERSONA ENCORE compilation was flabbergastedly.REMARKABLE.

I was sad because I didn’t take any opportunities to thank her for her effort, to praise her for being such a wonderful fella green pea, to say I appreciate her for the time spent on the blog and to have recognised earlier that she had missed out so much in reality. I was sad because I couldn’t encourage earlier.

I didn’t initially want to use this post-on miniufo’s departure from the bloggerdelicworld, to affirm you unnies, the princesses of LKHJ. BUT I thought it has to start somewhere, and while time waits for no man, I decided to say my simple thank yous and affirmation here. I want to live with no regrets. bAHH.

Dear unnie bb, emz and miyo,
I wanna say a simple ‘thank you’ to you princesses for putting LKHJ together.

    THANK YOU FOR:
the time, the effort, ALL that is behind the scene, unseen, the friendship which you had initiated (unbelievable how virtual can become reality), the refreshing approach to leader & SS501 fandom, you – unnies.

    &

Just to let you know, YOUR playground, is where I wanna play at.

Unnies, I want to affirm you princesses that what you have put in, is and are very much appreciated, although I may be hush hush at times, that doesn’t mean your posts have gone unread, your efforts have gone unrecognised. I may be a silent blogder sometimes, okays, most times. I do visit lovekimhyunjoong.com/blog /forum daily, okays almost daily. like 98%, what ever that figure means, yea, if not, I’d still keep up with posts of yesterdays. so, it has become part of my online habits, whenever I come online. not only for the news of Leader, SS501, but also for what was written from your heart and head.

SO, THANK YOU AND CONTINUE TO HIT US WITH WHATEVER COMES FORTH IN YOUR HEADs.HEARTs.&.with your FINGERS. me HEART this PLAYGROUND.

jupjuppy…! you almost made your princess unnie cry..!!
didn’t know you like us so much!
and it does mean alot to me when people like you (meaning people who have ‘known’ us for sometime
and also sorta known us personally) do genuinely see the value in our work
and do derive some joy from visiting our blog and forum.
      thank you much much.

incidentally, you’ve touched on a rather good point,
on how we sometimes (in fact too many times) wait till it’s too late to show our appreciation for someone,
and in some cases, to show our love for someone…
perhaps we take too many things for granted,
thinking that it’s enough someone else does the thanking,
or thinking that oh, i can always do it next time, blah blah blah…
but sometimes in life, we don’t get a second chance to say what we really mean to say until it’s too late.

keke, you’ve sorta triggered an idea in me
to do a reminder post once in awhile to tell STARLINGs to go spend quality time with their parents
and to say sorry if you’ve been rude the day before,
and to tell them you love them, no matter how mushy it seems to be ^.~

and i too thank you for your ‘support’… (keke, sounds superstar thanking her fan?!!)

      hi hi len!
really…? so you came to us through cagali…?
she’s a nice gal… when she knew that i was going to start this leader fansite,
she had offered to help us ‘promote’ ^.^
but i kindda stopped her from doing too much…
coz at that time, i had just wanted a small little playground for like-minded people to play at…
we’re not sure if we wanna be a full fanclub,
or just keep it casual like it is, just as a forum cum semi fan-blog thingy… ^.^
