if you’re saying ‘jung… who…?’, or if you’re even thinking that jung yong hwa is a woman, then hehe, i’d know you haven’t yet watched You’re Beautiful. yea, that k-drama that’s just ended; that drama that’s won itself lots of fans online despite its less-than-spectacular ratings.
(*bb: incidentally, as with a lot of actors and actresses who have just found fame outside of korea, there is the usual ‘confusion’, or inconsistency if you like, with their names. his name has also been spelt jeong yong hwa, jung young hwa, jeong young hwa.)
anyway, jung yong hwa played the second male lead in the drama, and other than his character’s name of kang shin woo, he’s also affectionately known as ‘the towel guy’. that’s derived from a rather cute scene that took place in the men’s locker room in the drama.
anyway, his and leader’s paths crossed only very briefly. remember leader was supposed to be one of the co-hosts in one of the sunday sunday segments, hunter? the one where he’s required to hunt down and gun down wild boars?
during that time, two young men were chosen. leader was one, and jung yong hwa was the other one.

JYH: I’ve not acted or filmed with Kim Hyun Joong sunbae yet. But my first impression of him at the press conference was that he’s very handsome, really very goodlooking.
He appears to be very 4D in variety programs, but what I saw was that he’s very quiet.
anyway, back to the hunter story… so leader went on to film for hunter, and his maiden showing on hunter was aired on 2009.12.06.
unfortunately, his first was also his last. due to the protests from the environmentalists, the TV station decided to AXE IT.

just abit more about JYH.
what i’ve found interesting is that there’re actually quite some similiarities between leader and him. first off, both have music background and are part of a band. secondly, both have also just tried acting for the first time. thirdly, both were sort of the second male leads in the dramas and nope, they didn’t win the girl. but but but… they’ve won lots of female fans amongst the viewers!! read THIS.
some netizens have also commented that they were reminded of jihoo sunbae when they were watching how ‘the towel guy’ was taking care of the girl…
and oh, one more interesting tidbit… i’ve read HERE that it’s been said JYH resembles yoochun of DBSK. and towards the end of the article, it also mentioned that there’s something about JYH that reminds people of lee dong gun.

yea, lee dong gun! even lee dong gun himself said he’d felt threatened coz he’s heard of many people talking about how leader looked alot like him…
i was just browsing through JYH’s pics earlier, and i do find that some of the poses he’s struck in the pics sorta remind me of leader.
but i guess these are rather common poses coming from male models and actors, so there really ain’t much to read into. for me, it’s not just leader’s super-good looks that did it, it was the entire package, particularly his quirkiness and his randomness.
and oh, one more thing, i’ve always thought that a very intelligent mind lies beneath all that gorgeousness.

For me, I like his taste in music, the fact that he originally wanted to be in rock band and in the future to have his own band. I was quite disappointed that he actually belong to a boy group when I thot it’s band, but if it’s an indie rock band, he wont stand a chance to be seen even. So I guess it’s all meant to be this way, hopefully he’ll get to produce his own music someday.
I think there are lots more abt Leader than just being so gorgeous. As for looks, I dun see anyone can compare or close with his. JYH? No way.
